MIT IDSS And WorldQuant Announce New Collaboration WorldQuant and MIT Institute for Data, Systems, and Society are partnering to develop better models for decision-making.

MIT Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS) and WorldQuant, LLC announced that they are partnering to focus on a range of scientific and societal challenges, including how to manage an increasing number of interconnected and dependent systems, develop new analytical risk metrics and approaches for measuring systemic risk, and understand and predict vulnerabilities.

As a founding industry member of Cambridge, Massachusetts–based IDSS and a founding sponsor of its finance initiative, WorldQuant will support the institute’s mission to advance research and education at the intersection of statistics, data science, information and decision systems, and social sciences. With the ability to capture and analyze data at an unprecedented level — thanks to big data, machine learning and other technological innovations — IDSS can now develop better models and metrics that can drive better business and policy decision-making.
